Vets in Training - Teacher

Full time teacher position for summer camp.  Spring and fall positions will be part time with the potential to advance to full time employment.

Vets in Training is a multi-faceted STEAM based program focused on teaching students veterinary skills and animal science through interaction with live animals.  Using the human-animal bond, Vets in Training teachers help students develop compassion and responsibility while learning the skills needed to care for animals and the science behind veterinary medicine.

Vets in Training is seeking an experienced teacher who possesses a love of animals, learning, and science.  The teacher would work closely with the Lead Veterinarian and instructional team. 

Job Description: 

The ideal candidate will be responsible for animal care, class preparation, and teaching in classes in various school districts and in our own Vets in Training Education Center.  Teacher will be responsible for learning pre planned lessons as well as working with the team to develop new lessons and activities.  Must be willing to learn proper animal care and assist the team with daily cleaning tasks. 

Qualifications: 

Candidates must be organized, have excellent communication and presentation skills, work well within a dynamic team and promote enthusiasm for learning subject matter in a safe, positive environment.

Candidate must have a willingness to handle all animals at the Vets in Training Center as well as a clean driving record to drive the company vehicle to off-site classes.

Past teacher experience mandatory and veterinary technician experience a plus, but not necessary. 

Must pass a criminal background check.
