    Job Description: The Career Transitions Specialist plays a pivotal role in assisting individuals in navigating career transitions by providing comprehensive guidance, resources, and support. In this role, you will work closely with individuals seeking to make significant changes in their careers, whether it's entering a new industry, advancing within their current field, or transitioning from education to employment.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct assessments: Evaluate the skills, interests, and goals of individuals seeking career transitions to develop personalized transition plans.
    • Provide counseling: Offer one-on-one guidance and support to individuals, helping them explore career options, set realistic goals, and develop action plans.
    • Offer resources: Connect individuals with relevant educational programs, training opportunities, and employment resources to support their career transitions.
    • Facilitate workshops: Organize and lead workshops on resume writing, interview preparation, networking strategies, and other topics relevant to career transitions.
    • Coordinate services: Collaborate with external partners, including educational institutions, employers, and community organizations, to coordinate services and resources for individuals.
    • Monitor progress: Track the progress of individuals in their career transitions, provide ongoing support, and make adjustments to plans as needed.
    • Stay updated: Stay informed about trends in industries, labor markets, and educational opportunities to provide accurate and up-to-date information to individuals.

    Qualifications:

    • Associate's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, human resources, or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred).
    • Experience in career counseling, vocational guidance, or relevant fields is desirable.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Familiarity with career development theories, assessment tools, and employment resources.
    • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
    • Empathy, patience, and a sincere desire to assist individuals in achieving their career objectives.

    Skills:
    - Experience working with students in a counseling or advising capacity
    - Strong recruiting skills to attract employers for job fairs and other networking events
    - Ability to educate students on various careers, industries, and job search strategies
    - Excellent public speaking and presentation skills
    - Effective written and verbal communication skills
    - Proficiency in using Google Suits and Zoom (preferred)
    - Experience mentoring or providing academic advising to students
    - Knowledge of education administration principles
