Training Assistant is responsible for clerical and administrative duties related to the delivery of training and organizational development programs. Schedules training events, coordinates with instructors, obtains and distributes required instructional materials, and communicates schedules and details. Being a Training Assistant processes enrollments and answers routine inquiries regarding courses, schedules, and locations. Uses an information system or database to enter data and produce reports on training statistics, inventory levels or assessments of the programs and instructors. Additionally, Training Assistant coordinates additional services including technical equipment, meals and refreshments, housekeeping, maintenance or repairs. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Training Assistant possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. This person will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and Assistant Golf Course Superintendents on all aspects of golf course maintenance. They will be trained on the operation of powered equipment related to mowing and cultural practices, fertilizer and pesticide calibration/application, and water management. They will also contribute in daily crew scheduling and supervision learning all the tools needed to become an Assistant and eventually a Golf Course Superintendent. The Assistant in Training will be responsible for managing 9 holes of the Copperhead golf course and assisting in the planning and preparation for the Valspar championship.
Applicants should possess an Associate, Bachelor, or Certificate in Turf Management or previous golf course experience.
Position requires flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and overtime (when needed).
