Training Assistant is responsible for clerical and administrative duties related to the delivery of training and organizational development programs. Schedules training events, coordinates with instructors, obtains and distributes required instructional materials, and communicates schedules and details. Being a Training Assistant processes enrollments and answers routine inquiries regarding courses, schedules, and locations. Uses an information system or database to enter data and produce reports on training statistics, inventory levels or assessments of the programs and instructors. Additionally, Training Assistant coordinates additional services including technical equipment, meals and refreshments, housekeeping, maintenance or repairs. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Training Assistant possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Job responsibilities: Reports to the food service manager. Directly supervises the production supervisor, line supervisors, correctional officer staff and offenders assigned to the dining room. Responsible for the management of food services, which includes the offender dining hall and special food services in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) directives.
