Scheduled Work Hours/Shift: 4-10 hour shifts. Occasional weekends. No holidays or call.
Job Summary/Purpose: Under the supervision of the Training Center Coordinator, the Community Training Center Nurse Educator will assume the role of instructor and training center faculty for the MUSC Community Training Center in the provision of American Heart Association Emergency Cardiac Care (ECC) programs and other training classes as designated.
Requirements (Education, Work Experience, Licensure, Registry and/or Certifications): A bachelor's degree in nursing or related field from an accredited school and three years of current clinical practice required; two years of which in critical care nursing highly desired. Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider. ACLS or PALS Instructor required and will obtain BLS, ACLS and PALS instructor within 3 months of hire. Extensive knowledge of current trends and practices of the nursing profession is needed. Knowledge in current competency-based practice and evaluation of practice outcomes required. Ability to use a computer with word, excel and MS office applications. Valid SC driver's license for travel related to position required.
