Hotel Operations Manager in Training Program

With Newport Hotel Group's Manager In Training program you get hands on experience with amazing opportunities to travel and work in various departments. It is anticipated that after one year in this rotational program candidates will be promoted into a leadership role!

    The starting rate of pay is $55-65k/year with the opportunity to increase depending on availability for overtime and a pay increase of $1/hour every 3-4 months.

    ABOUT THE MANAGEMENT IN TRAINING PROGRAM

    The MIT program is a 12-month rotational program with hands-on experience and in-depth exposure to hotel operations. Trainees will work in all positions throughout the Front Office and Housekeeping Departments. They will also have the opportunity to apply and be considered for a concentration in Human Resources and/or Accounting. This experience will assist in a comprehensive understanding of how hotels operate while developing supervisory and management skills.

    WHO CAN APPLY

    • Recent graduates with a bachelor's degree in Hospitality/Tourism or Business are preferred.
    • Experience in hospitality or related professional areas.

    CANDIDATES MUST BE WILLING TO

    • Work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
    • Commit to delivering high levels of customer service.
    • Desire to develop as a leader in the hospitality field.
    • Work in various positions throughout the Front Desk and Housekeeping Departments. As needed, be willing and able to work in the Food and Beverage Department.
    • As this is a rotating position not only through various departments at the hotel but also locations company wide, candidates must be flexible and available to travel as directed to Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.
