So, what will you be doing?
The Training Specialist
will have responsibilities to include scheduling training classes &
teaching new trainees company policies and regulations, assisting in delivering
safety training on behind-the-wheel tasks, and retraining bus operators on
accidents.
Who you are?
Key Accountabilities:
- Foster a “Safety First” culture
- Identify internal and external
training programs to address competency gaps and leverage all sites
- Partner with internal stakeholders
regarding employee training needs
- Organize, develop or source
training programs to meet specific training needs
- Liaise with subject matter experts
regarding instructional design
- Develop training aids such as
manuals and handbooks
- Inform employees about training
options
- Present training programs using
recognized training techniques and tools
- Facilitate learning through a
variety of delivery methods including classroom instruction, virtual
training, on-the-job coaching
- Design and apply assessment tools
to measure training effectiveness
- Track and report on training
outcomes
- Provide feedback to program
participants and management
- Evaluate and make recommendations
on training material and methodology
- Maintain employee training records
- Handle logistics for training
activities including venues and equipment
- Train company employees on safe
work practices and emergency procedures
- Ensures employees are properly
informed about the working, environmental and safety policies of the
organization
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
required:
- Two to five years’ experience in
training, safety, environmental, operations, and engineering
- A credible strong leader with the
ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
- Strong team working ethic, strong
analytical skills, and the ability to apply sound business / commercial
knowledge for the industry.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and
regulations relating to the specific trade or activity being managed
- Certification by OSHA or Canadian
OS&H as an Outreach Trainer
- Certified CPR/AED & First Aid Trainer
Special Features:
- Will be required to travel
throughout the region for up to one week
- Will require regular attendance at
leadership team meetings to help prepare and present data
- A flexible approach to working
extended hours, as needed
