Translator translates written and spoken information from one language to another. Reads, comprehends, and rewrites materials in designated languages following established linguistic rules related to word meanings, sentence structure, grammar, and punctuation. Being a Translator must be well versed in vocabulary dealing with specialty. Must follow ethical procedures and policies that protect the confidentiality of information. Additionally, Translator may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Translator gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. – Assist non-English speaking associates with the new hire application process and guiding them through the necessary steps.
– Serve as a translator during interviews, between hiring managers and non-English speaking candidates.
– Support the Human Resources new hire orientation by delivering translations of important information and ensuring the understanding of policies, procedures, and benefits.
– Provide ongoing language support to new hires during their onboarding process, addressing any questions or concerns that may arise.
– Translate departmental documents, such as policies, guidelines, and training materials, to ensure that all associates have access to critical information.
