Transportation Director is responsible for the operation of the company's transportation network. May oversee the acquisition of transportation providers to develop broader network. Being a Transportation Director ensures the alignment between third party partners and distribution centers to fulfill customer needs. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Transportation Director typically reports to a top management. The Transportation Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
