Queen Transportation, LLC Transportation’s primary role is to coordinate and plan driver routes, orchestrating the seamless movement of cargo in a safe, efficient, and timely manner. Job duties include navigating load boards and personal connections to locate freight needs, speaking to brokers, conducting negotiations, and dispatching drivers and setting up their routes. The position also includes some back-end work like reviewing truck drivers’ logs and tracking their hours and other administrative tasks
Dispatchers need to schedule the most efficient driving routes. They must be in constant communication with brokers and drivers to ensure that the transportation process is seamless and that each delivery schedule is met. They serve as a central contact point for both truck drivers and customers, coordinating the shipping process. In this fast-paced job, this position responsible for multiple trucks, customers, drivers and routes, which requires extreme attention to detail. They also monitor trucks and drivers once they are in route, and they help if an issue arises.
They must also have excellent communication skills, which helps maintain strong relationships with the customer, broker and the drivers.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
· Find backhauls that fit delivery times and locations of drivers.
· Secure backhauls with brokers and customers.
· Use customer portals for scheduling.
· Maintain contact with drivers.
· Document all calls, deliveries, routes and times for pickups and deliveries.
· Understand DOT HOS rules and plan accordingly.
· Monitor driver’s working hours to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
· Audit rate confirmations for accuracy.
· Complete paperwork related to shipments, such as invoices and rate.
· Handling customer complaints and inquiries.
· Negotiating rates and delivery time lines.
· Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
· Follows up on questions or concerns promptly and effectively.
· Presents a professional image at all times.
· Train and Instruct.
· Creates open communication channels with their team.
· Performs other duties as assigned by Executive Management Team.
