SUMMARY
The Senior Treasury Analyst oversees the funding and liquidity position of United Community Bank. The incumbent will also be involved in executing derivative transactions and counterparty credit analysis as needed. The Analyst will work within established policies and parameters along with the then current strategy. They can be relied upon to manage and perform certain functions and processes as required with little direct supervision.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or similar field
- Interest in bank funding and liquidity, derivatives, and credit risk analysis
- Detail focused to manage and forecast the banks liquidity position over short, medium, and long terms in addition to throughout each business day
- Understanding of accounting and regulatory environment for banks a plus
- Must be dynamic, analytical, entrepreneurial, creative, and able to multi-task under time constraints
- Highly motivated and focused on delivering concrete results
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Participate in all required compliance training, including Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering training, as well as internal and external training programs, online training, meetings, and seminars/conferences, etc.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Funding and Liquidity
- Perform active management of the wholesale funding position and identify cost-efficient sources of funds as they arise, along with investing surplus reserves on a short term basis
- Oversee cashflow expectations and outstanding debt concentrations
- Maintain detailed cash flow and liquidity forecasts (short, medium and long term) working in concert with Finance and other teams as needed
- Implement efficient reporting for Treasury and other parties as needed
- Identify and execute strategy with wholesale funding products, pricing, testing, and execution including: Fed Funds, Wholesale & Brokered CDs, Wholesale MMDAs, FHLB Advances, Federal Reserve Advances, Repo, and other term borrowings
- Enter wholesale funding transactions into the system of record as well as document, update, and maintain appropriate procedures
- Maximize collateral efficiency within the FHLB and Fed borrowing bases
- Assists in the pricing of public funds and large deposits
- Prepare Funding and Liquidity reporting for ALCO and the Board
Derivative Management
- Understand derivative pricing and the systems used for pricing interest rate derivatives
- Work with approved counterparties to obtain appropriate quotes to share with appropriate parties
- Participate in the execution of the street side of customer derivatives working with approved counterparties within the limits set for the counterparty and within the Derivatives Policy
- Ensure all derivative transactions are entered timely and correctly into the system of record including communicating with other Treasury personnel and counterparties as needed
- Work with the counterparty after trades if any issues arise
- Develop an understanding of Derivatives documentation include ISDA agreements
- Ensure all derivative transactions comply with all banks policies and procedures
- Assist with other duties as assigned related to derivatives or applicable documentation
Counterparty Credit and Risk Management
- Produce write-ups for counterparty risk analysis including on-going surveillance of approved counterparties as it relates to Treasury activities
- Understand and assist in managing documentation surrounding counterparty write-ups, counterparty agreements and contracts
- Work with Credit and other groups in Treasury to determine appropriate exposure limits surrounding products for credit analysis
- Complete any research and due diligence to accurately write up the counterparty analysis
- Assists in completing meeting minutes for Counterparty Risk Committee meetings
- Prepare Counterparty Risk Management reporting for ALCO and the Board
General
- Has a thorough understanding of the Liquidity Policy, the Contingency Funding Plan (“CFP”), the Investment Policy, the Derivatives Policy, and the Counterparty Risk Policy and the Risk Appetite Statement (“RAS”)
- Be completely familiar with regulatory guidance, such as SR Letters and the Examiner’s Handbook, with respect to funds and liquidity management, and maintain copies of recent guidance documents for reference
- Ensure complete processes and procedures exist to maintain business continuity and provide a basis for process auditing and examination
- Ensure files are well organized and documented, updated, and stored
- Assist with automation in making daily and month end processes more efficient
- Assist with preparing ALCO meeting minutes when needed
- Be familiar with and maintain compliance with the Bank’s model and spreadsheet policies
- Assist with merger acquisition related assignments
- Assist with other Treasury department projects as needed
- Assist with ad-hoc projects and duties as needed or assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position does not have any direct reports.

Location in UCB Footprint.
POSITION TYPE
This is a full-time position that requires schedule flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
TRAVEL
This position requires up to 10% travel.
