    Job Description:

    Full-time position in Lexington, North Carolina, working in estate and trust administration.

    Job Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Meet with the client to review and analyze will and trust provisions.
    • Draft application for probate and supporting documents.
    • Meet with the client to review the estate/trust administration process.
    • Notify heirs, devisees, and creditors of the probate proceeding.
    • Assist personal representative and/or client in collecting death benefits such as life insurance and social security benefits.
    • Collect information and evaluate assets for inventory and appraisal.
    • Maintain financial records of the estate.
    • Prepare simple deeds, stock certificates, and related transfer documents needed in estate administration/distribution per the will and trust provisions or in the event of administration by intestacy (ie: without a will).
    • Assist others in the office on an as-needed basis.
    • General office duties.

    • Possess a comfort level with deadlines and managing numerous estate files.
    • Competence with office equipment, computers, word processing, and relevant software.
    • Respect for confidentiality and information.

    Paralegal education and estate administration experience are preferred but are not necessary. We are willing to teach and train the right candidate.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 39.50 per week
