Trust Administrator manages and administers a group of trust accounts. Reviews legal and financial documents, cultivates customer relationships and transfers and invests balances for clients. Being a Trust Administrator requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. To be a Trust Administrator typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Trust Employee Benefits Administrator

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Process Contributions to Employee Benefits plans and prepare reports and purchase mutual funds as determined by employee’s investment elections.
    • Maintain accounting records of accounts. Ensure up to date forms are kept, prepare recap sheets and allocations and process quarterly fees as directed.
    • Maintain Relius Web. Complete monthly Matrix participant count requests.
    • Send out plan year end census requests. Keep Critical Date Log up to Date as well as prepare employee packet meeting materials.
    • Work closely with the accountant to provide trust tax information and ensure timely filing of 5500’s.
    • New Business Development.
    • Back up for Executive Secretary as well as numerous other assignments as they come up.
    • Minimum associates degree or equivalent work in financial, legal or wealth management industry
    • Organization skills, multi-tasked oriented and possess attention to detail to curtail errors
    • Good oral and written communication skills, ability to learn quickly and to work as a team player
    • Basic calculator skills, office machine usage and experience in accounting/bookkeeping
    • Experience using Microsoft Office Suites and experience in tax preparation is helpful
    • When visiting with clients and the public listen for the opportunities to sell and cross sell services provided by the Bank
    • Obtain a general knowledge of the trust business and become proficient in functions of the operations department and employee benefit area of the trust department

    This position requires a high level of confidentiality and attention to detail. The Employee Benefit Administrator will maintain employee benefit accounts, assist with employer meetings and be a team player with all members of the Trust department. The candidate for this position will know the aspects of Trust Operations and Employee Benefit tax rules and regulations. Accuracy, professionalism and confidentiality are of utmost importance.
