ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION AND THE OPPORTUNITY
EdTrust seeks a Spencer Fellow for Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR) on our P12 team. The ideal Fellow is an early-career scholar with experience designing and conducting participatory action research or other community-oriented research strategies, who can help build Ed Trust’s capacity to engage and train young people to conduct systemic research to improve the schools intended to serve them.
The Fellow will join a staff committed to fulfilling our mission of closing opportunity gaps that disproportionately affect students of color and students from low-income backgrounds and will contribute to advancing the P-12 division’s work and goals to examine barriers to excellent educational opportunities for students of color and students from low-income backgrounds and identify best practices to address those barriers.
The person in this role will work with colleagues within and across teams – as well as with external partners – to help design and carry out the P-12 youth participatory action research (YPAR) agenda related to Ed Trust's policy priorities, including equitable resource allocation, ensuring safe and culturally affirming schools, and creating more equitable pathways to college and career. The Fellow will represent the organization with a wide range of stakeholders, including advocates, other researchers, funders, educators, policymakers, and media.

This is a 24-month full-time Fellowship that begins July 16, 2024. The role is based in our Washington, DC office and is eligible for telework for up to 3 days per week per our current telework policy. The Fellow reports to the Director of P-12 Research and Data Analytics and will serve as a member of the Ed Trust National P-12 Research & Data team.

COMPENSATION
This salaried position falls in Level C of our salary structure for our Washington, DC office. New hire offers typically fall between the minimum and mid-point of the range and are rarely offered at the top of this range: $65,680 - $82,100. Offers will be commensurate with skills, experience, and internal equity.
