The Corporation for Ohio Appalachian Development (COAD) is a 50-year-old nonprofit organization that provides direct services for Ohio’s Appalachian counties in Early Care and Education, AmeriCorps Seniors, Weatherization and Energy Efficiency, and serves the state of Ohio in its accredited Weatherization Training Center. We are currently seeking a talented individual who is passionate about “making a difference” in their community and join our growing team.
The Opportunity:
We are looking to add a Training Specialist: Housing Trust Fund (HTF) to our growing team. As our Training Specialist (HTF) your responsibilities will include:
· Coordinates the day-to-day operations of the Ohio Housing Trust Fund programs
· Prepare, develops and deliver training content
· Interact with COAD internal and member agency Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) and housing program staff and weatherization, heating and building trades contractors to ensure the delivery of the highest quality of housing repair services to low-income customers
· Ensure alignment of subject teaching areas, and relate curriculum materials to specific credentials, learning supports, individual student needs, and occupational areas
· Conduct training courses for COAD’s in-state training customers, evaluate overall progress of training course participants
· Provides in-field technical assistance and follow-up visits for COAD’s training contracts and customers and/or Housing Trust Fund customers.

Requirements
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field
· Three (3) years hands-on experience within the field of construction, weatherization or building trades
· Experience with Learning Management Systems, virtual content creation software and equipment
· Basic understanding of residential construction terminology and techniques
· Willing and able to be certified by the Building Performance Institute as either a Building Envelope Specialist or a Heating Specialist
· Proficient with power tools
· Proven ability to communicate with people of all socio-economic levels.
