Position Title: Relationship Manager (Institutional Trust)
Full Time Position
Position Overview: This position will aid in developing and maintaining strong customer relations with internal and external clients while seeking new business opportunities for current and prospective clients. Serve as the main point of contact and Relationship Manager for Defined Benefit Pension and Health and Welfare Accounts.
Immediate Supervisor: Chief Trust Officer
Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as primary contact of assigned employee benefit accounts.
Serve as a member of an experienced Administration and Relationship Management team that services all accounts, coordinates activities with them. You would also need to learn the team’s responsibilities to engage and back them up as needed.
Ensure that client requests are accommodated and responded to in a timely fashion.
Ensure that administration support is communicating effectively with internal teams to execute client directed transactions and trading activity daily.
Serve as a Trust Officer and participate in Trust Officer meetings, work with the Trust Administration Review Group and the Fee and Acceptance Groups.
Coordinate with bank professionals on shared accounts and new prospective accounts to maximize client satisfaction, service, and growth for the organization.
Work in a professional manner with Plan Sponsors, Third-Party Administrators, Investment Managers, Investment Consultants, Auditors, Legal Counsel, and any other agents of the client.
Review plan documentation, and other legal documents as necessary in our serving as Trustee or Custodian for UB Trust Department accounts.
Direct and oversee support personnel to prepare analysis and special reporting as needed by clients and their service providers.
Review and maintain administrative procedures.
Ensure and oversee that support personal review daily trial balance, including security, distribution, and contribution transactions.
Complete new account and closing account documentation, providing any needed direction to the support personnel.
Ensure trade tickets executed based on client needs and properly completed by support personnel.
Review monthly account fees for accuracy and approval. Follow up on overdue fees.
Diligently work to meet with all clients, build on current relationships and foster a trusted partner relationship.
Attend client trustee meetings as assigned or invited.
Assist in the completion of RFP proposals and participate in the business development process and use Saleforce.com to track these activities.
Attend periodic training meetings, including local business group meetings, national conferences and trade show conventions as directed or recommended by Chief Trust Officer.
Assist in the training of the Support Group.
Assist in or assign research projects (both internal and client requested).
Some travel required.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
College Education preferred.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Relationship Management capacity (Trust and custody organization preferred)
Trust accounting software experience preferred.
3 years of relevant experience in trust, financial services and or employee benefit plan experience.
Exceptional understanding Defined Benefit plans and the role of the custodian is preferred, other related backgrounds will be considered.
Understanding of employee benefit plans and experience with Taft-Hartley plans a plus.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, organize job responsibilities and work independently with attention to detail and follow through.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
Proficient in Windows office environment (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
Professional presence and ability to thrive in a client facing role.
Strong demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience a plus.
