Ultrasound Technologist jobs in Buffalo, NY

Ultrasound Technologist operates ultrasonic equipment to produce images of the body's organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. Performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Being an Ultrasound Technologist records test results, inspects and maintains equipment, and orders supplies when needed. May require an associate degree in a related area. Additionally, Ultrasound Technologist typically requires completion of an accredited program in Medical Sonography. May require registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Ultrasound Technologist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Position Summary:
    Responsible for diagnostic Ultrasound examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data at a technical level not requiring direct supervision; providing compassionate patient care in a high volume, fast paced environment to patients of all ages; contributing to the efficient operation of the department, as well as ensuring quality and continuity of patient care.

    • Perform requested exams according to the American College of Radiology (ACR) standards in an accurate and timely manner and as outlined in Ultrasound Department Policy & Procedural Manual.
    • Prepare and maintain daily patient worksheets for each exam and procedures log.
    • Perform computer skills to include all appropriate edits, charges and tracking
    • Calibrates and maintains equipment and orders supplies when needed.
    • Ability to present completed examination findings including pertinent exam and patient data to Radiologist(s).
    Qualifications:
    • Required to have 2-5 years’ experience in Ultrasound.
    • Must be willing to obtain RVT Certification.
    • 2 year Degree with successful completion of an approved one-year program in Ultrasound Technology.
    • Must hold and maintain RDMS Certification.
    • Must be willing to obtain Breast Certification.
