Ultrasound Technologist jobs in High Point, NC

Ultrasound Technologist operates ultrasonic equipment to produce images of the body's organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. Performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Being an Ultrasound Technologist records test results, inspects and maintains equipment, and orders supplies when needed. May require an associate degree in a related area. Additionally, Ultrasound Technologist typically requires completion of an accredited program in Medical Sonography. May require registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Ultrasound Technologist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.      This position is responsible to maintain regulatory and professional standards and exhibit strong decision-making capabilities. A close working relationship with Radiology leadership, radiologists, and the medical staff is required to maintain a cost-effective and patient-focused service. This position is responsible to provide care for patients undergoing Ultrasound procedures using the approved workflows and procedural protocols. Technologists in this position are able to demonstrate full knowledge of Ultrasound equipment. Talent Pool; Allied Health

     

    Responsibilities

     

     Performs routine and special exams consistent with established protocols to minimize repeat examinations. Exam productivity is within established benchmark.--------------------------------------------------Consistently completes all exams and documentation in CHL and PACS. Consistently and accurately identifies all charges associated with studies. Addresses errors and resolves issues related to final product being sent to PACS. --------------------------------------------------Consistently demonstrates commitment to safe practices and supports Just Culture. Commitment to use Two for Two to accurately identify patients, follows procedures to avoid laterality errors, eliminate falls and ALARA. Completes all annual competencies by designated timeframe.--------------------------------------------------Exemplary model using AIDET, service excellence and service recovery. --------------------------------------------------Assists with patient transport as necessary. --------------------------------------------------

    Qualifications

     

    EDUCATION:High School Diploma or equivalent, RequiredGraduate of a Radiology, Imaging or related educational program.

     

    EXPERIENCE:0-1 year, Healthcare - Ultrasound Technologist, Required1-2 years, Healthcare - Ultrasound Technologist, Preferred

     

    LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIREDBLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare ProviderARDMS Ultrasound Technologist, ARRT RT(S) Ultrasound Technologist or CCI RVSRVT/RVS Registered Vascular Technologist(All current Cone Health Sonographers will have 2-years to successfully complete RVT requirement)(Any new candidate sonographer will have 16 months to successfully complete RVT requirement)(If your lab does not perform vascular exams, the sonographer is not required to have RVT Registry)ADDITIONAL Information on required licensure/certification/registry/listingsOB/GYN and/or ABDOMEN and/or BREAST and/or VASCULAR and/or PEDSPREFERRED
