Ultrasound Technologist operates ultrasonic equipment to produce images of the body's organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. Performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Being an Ultrasound Technologist records test results, inspects and maintains equipment, and orders supplies when needed. May require an associate degree in a related area. Additionally, Ultrasound Technologist typically requires completion of an accredited program in Medical Sonography. May require registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Ultrasound Technologist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. To be an Ultrasound Technologist typically requires 2 -4 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

  • Job Description: First Shift- PRN Rotating Call, Rotating Holidays, and Rotating Weekends Responsible for performance of quality Echo and Vascular procedures and all related activities such as processing of reports, patient education and on call responsibilities. Provide direct patient care to patients of all ages. Mentor other ultrasound technologists, performing Echo/vascular procedures, to ensure quality of procedures performed within the department. Technologist communicates procedure diagnostic information to physician(s). Minimum Requirements: Satisfactory completion of an education program in Vascular Ultrasound and/or Echocardiography. Both preferred but not required. Credentialing in either Vascular Ultrasound and/or Echocardiography must be obtained within 12 months after hire date. Both licenses are preferred but not required.
