Ultrasound Technologist jobs in Lompoc, CA

Ultrasound Technologist operates ultrasonic equipment to produce images of the body's organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. Performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Being an Ultrasound Technologist records test results, inspects and maintains equipment, and orders supplies when needed. May require an associate degree in a related area. Additionally, Ultrasound Technologist typically requires completion of an accredited program in Medical Sonography. May require registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Ultrasound Technologist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. To be an Ultrasound Technologist typically requires 2 -4 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

    Position Summary:

    • Performs Ultrasound exams on both in and out patients
    • Assists radiologist in Ultrasound guided procedures
    • Must work well under stress or tight deadlines.
    • Must work well with supervisors, co-workers, patients/residents, family members and visitors.

    Position Qualifications:

    • Education: Sufficient to apply for ARDMS exam. 
    • Experience: Prior work experience as an Ultrasonographer preferred.                 
    • Certifications:  Obtain ARDMS licensure within 1 year, BLS

    Skills/Ability: Ability to perform or be trained in full range of exams performed in department
