Ultrasound Technologist operates ultrasonic equipment to produce images of the body's organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. Performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Being an Ultrasound Technologist records test results, inspects and maintains equipment, and orders supplies when needed. May require an associate degree in a related area. Additionally, Ultrasound Technologist typically requires completion of an accredited program in Medical Sonography. May require registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Ultrasound Technologist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Ultrasound Technologist Full Time Nights Position Summary
- The position exists to provide ultrasound examinations for patients of all ages. Ultrasonographers provide patient care services using ultrasound imaging modalities.
- This includes assessing patient condition, operating ultrasound equipment, proficiency in PACS, preparing examination rooms, and maintaining equipment, supplies and medications.
- Ultrasonographers are also required to maintain necessary patient records and participate in the departmental Performance Improvement program.
- Ultrasonographers also function as clinical instructors for students enrolled in the Radiologic Technology and ultrasound programs.
- Night and weekend call may be required.
THE ULTRASOUND TECHNOLOGIST FULL TIME NIGHTS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.

Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program.
Minimum Experience: 1 to 2 years of job-related experience is preferred.
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses: Must have a working knowledge of ultrasound procedures achieved through advanced training. Must acquire RDMS with a minimum of one modality within the first year of employment. RVT certification is required beginning 1/1/2017. CPR certification required.
