Ultrasound Technologist operates ultrasonic equipment to produce images of the body's organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. Performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Being an Ultrasound Technologist records test results, inspects and maintains equipment, and orders supplies when needed. May require an associate degree in a related area. Additionally, Ultrasound Technologist typically requires completion of an accredited program in Medical Sonography. May require registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Ultrasound Technologist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Performs all the essential functions of the Registered Sonographer. Performs and evaluates sonographic examinations and physiologic vascular testing. Obtains clinical history and performs a physical assessment of the patient's condition to determine appropriate testing protocol. Provides a technical interpretation of sonographic and physiologic data to aid physicians in rendering a medical diagnosis.

    Hours: Full time, 1.0 FTE, Day Shift, 40 Hours Per Week

    Required Qualifications:

    • Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Sonography program (minimum one year in length).
    • Credentials with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
    • Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
    • Upon hire: National Certification from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Or
    • Upon hire: National Registered Technologist - Sonography
    • 9 months ultrasound coursework experience in Abdomen, OB/Gyn including clinical rotation.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Upon hire: Membership in a professional organization such as the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, Society of Vascular Technologists, or the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine
    • 9-month ultrasound coursework experience in Breast and vascular technology including clinical rotation.
