Ultrasound Technologist jobs in Stamford, CT

Ultrasound Technologist operates ultrasonic equipment to produce images of the body's organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. Performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data. Being an Ultrasound Technologist records test results, inspects and maintains equipment, and orders supplies when needed. May require an associate degree in a related area. Additionally, Ultrasound Technologist typically requires completion of an accredited program in Medical Sonography. May require registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). May require a state license to practice. Typically reports to a chief technologist or manager. The Ultrasound Technologist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     Schedule: Full Time Monday-Friday (Flexible hours) with Rotating Saturday's

    Position Summary:

    The sonographer will be performing a variety of general and interventional ultrasound procedures. The sonographer will also be responsible for assisting Radiologists with special procedures such as biopsies, utilizing specialized sonographic techniques, reviewing all necessary documentation related to the procedures, setting up patients, operating ultrasound equipment, and performing related clinical and administrative duties.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Demonstrated interest in meeting patient needs and assuring patient satisfaction.
    • Ultrasound Experience in abdominal, breast, small parts, vascular, and pelvic ultrasound.
    • Operating knowledge of ultrasound equipment.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication and team work skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in fast paced, customer oriented highly professional environment.
    • Proven record of taking direction professionally from other medical personnel.
    • Thorough knowledge of medical office procedures and computer skills, such as Microsoft Office.
    • Ability to lift/push 30 to 50 lbs; ability to stand and maneuver large file cases.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Graduate from an Ultrasound accredited program. ARDMS certification or eligible and 1 year clinical experience preferred.
    • ARRT (R) and State of Connecticut Licensure preferred.
    • RVT within 1 year of hire if candidate is already RDMS or within 1 year after obtaining their RDMS credential.
