Undercarriage Technician jobs in the United States
Undercarriage Technician repairs, reconditions, and services all machine undercarriage. Communicates findings and recommendations to customer and management. Being an Undercarriage Technician able to measure, disassemble and determine repairability, reusability and extent of repairs required. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Undercarriage Technician typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be an Undercarriage Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. Rebuilds undercarriage components for revenue customers and the Company Exchange Program.
Compensation: up to $25.90 per hour.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One year previous mechanical experience
- Ability to read and comprehend repair manuals
- Ability to use micrometer and other basic measuring tools
- General knowledge of welding and the use of torch for heating and welding
- May be required to possess a Commercial Driver's License based on department operational needs
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to stand for extended time periods
- Must be able to work in high temperature environment
- Assists in or directly disassembles, cleans, inspects, make repairs, and assembles undercarriage components
- Training in the operation of various machinery to fulfill reconditioning requirements to include Idler Welders, Roller assembly and disassembly tooling and Track Presses
- Works with hazardous waste and receives Hazardous Waste Training every year
- Must be able to work overtime including weekends, as required
- Performs other duties as necessary and assigned
