Position

The Small Business department has an opening, starting July 1, 2024, for someone who can demonstrate the WCF values to join their team as a full-time Associate Underwriter Trainee. This posting is open to external candidates. This will be an in-office position.

Responsibilities

The Underwriter Trainee Program provides an opportunity for a participant to go through a six month mix of training and hands-on learning of underwriting responsibilities. The participant will be given the needed training to be prepared to work as an associate underwriter in the small business department. An associate underwriter provides excellent customer experience in all interactions, and assists and educates brokers, agents and policy holders about available products and services, online tools, and coverage needs. The person in this position will focus primarily on small business underwriting functions including new and renewal quoting, policy management, rewrites, and cancellations. The Associate Underwriter is also responsible for building and maintaining result-oriented relationships with all partners to drive production and retention results. This person in this position provides small business services - via phone calls, emails, and online applications - including marketing, finance, underwriting, and internet services.

Qualifications

The most qualified applicants will have:

• Bachelor's degree.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong organization skills and work accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks.
• Work experience in any industry a plus.

Pay for training is $21.65/hr. After successful training completion and obtaining your AINS certification, pay will increase to a salary of $58,240. WCF Insurance will pay the AINS testing fees.
