Underwriting Assistant provides support and assistance to underwriting staff. Performs administrative duties regarding new and renewal accounts, risk assessments, and loss runs and loss ratings. Being an Underwriting Assistant may assist underwriters with the computation of rates and premiums. Typically requires a high school diploma. Additionally, Underwriting Assistant typically reports to a supervisor. The Underwriting Assistant works under moderate supervision. Responsibilities:
- Perform general office duties, including data entry, filing, and organizing documents
- Manage calendars and schedule appointments for office staff
- Assist with order entry and inventory management
- Provide excellent customer service to clients and visitors
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate staff members
- Assist with office management tasks, such as maintaining office supplies and equipment
Skills:
- Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail)
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail
- Experience in calendar management and scheduling
- Familiarity with order entry systems and inventory management
- Knowledge of general office procedures and office management tasks
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is a plus
- Familiarity with phone systems and ability to handle multiple calls simultaneously
