Hours: This is a PRN position and would require a minimum of 48 hours in a six-week period and 24 of those hours must be Saturday and Sunday.
The Health Unit Coordinator manages the communication center of the inpatient nursing units, communicating courteously, effectively, and efficiently with all customers. Completes clinical information system and patient record responsibilities including admission, discharge, and transfers, patient registration, obtaining and updating insurance information; ensures that records are complete and accurate to allow for patient billing. Ensures nursing staff is aware of patient needs communicated to the HUC through the nurse call system. Notifies appropriate staff during emergency situations, acute admissions, and discharges. Provides assistance as needed to the nursing staff.
