Job Description:
The health unit coordinator is responsible for various clerical duties relating to updating and organizing information on the nursing units and performs administrative and clinical support duties. The main objective is to keep the nursing stations running smoothly and operating in a timely and efficient manner. This is achieved by answering phones, coordinating appointments, escorts, and transportation for residents; coordinating work tasks for the nursing units among other departments, filing and scanning medical records, entering data into the resident EHR, reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor, and responding to inquiries from visitors and personnel.
