An opportunity exists for a Coordinator at the CHAAMP program within the Student Services division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit.
This position responsible for coordinating the implementation and management of a community-based transition program for adolescent learners with moderate to severe autism. The program will utilize the principles of applied behavior analysis to promote an intensive learning environment. This innovative program seeks to establish a professional collaboration between the educational system, families, and the community at large to develop a vision for the student post-age 21. It then seeks to identify all skills necessary to be mastered to make that vision a reality. To that end, the program will utilize the community as its classroom, and citizens of the community and community opportunities as the educational materials. The program is entirely community-based so that the underlying fundamental principles of transition and integration into the community for adult life are supported.
The incumbent will be expected to work independently. The CHAAMP Program Coordinator will initiate and oversee services to clients including the activities of teachers, instructional assistants, job coaches, behavior specialist(s), and other behavioral health staff. The incumbent will coordinate all staffing decisions and make determinations regarding staffing priorities and appropriateness to promote both quality assurance and program efficiency.
The incumbent will be expected to work closely with parents and any program parent organization with respect to individual student planning and global planning of the program as the program model is collaborative and is expected to develop and implement systems to achieve this goal.
The incumbent will be expected to collaborate with outside program consultants and incorporate recommendations as appropriate.
