    Job Description:

    The Assistant Registrar, Data and Compliance is the primary professional staff position within the Office of the University Registrar responsible for maintaining the accuracy and consistency of undergraduate and graduate student data. The Assistant Registrar is also responsible for providing reports and analyzing data for internal and external sources for purposes of budgetary preparation, federal reporting, institutional research and academic school and department needs. The Assistant Registrar coordinates the testing of student information and third party systems as patches and updates are released and ensures all office processes are documented and up to date.

    Essential Functions/Characteristics

    • Maintenance of comprehensive SISR
    • Collect and analyze information for reports. Standardize all reporting systems within the Office of the Registrar to enhance workplace performance and productivity. Formalize a reporting calendar for all cyclical reporting systems in accordance with the Academic Calendar.
    • Produce ad hoc and scheduled enrollment reports.
    • Authenticate all Registrar procedures, updates, patches, efficiency.
    • Orchestrate document retention, rotation, storage and disposal of student records according to AACRO standards.
    • Produce Statistical Data Reports, Archive and Trends
    • Create, analyze and generate reports on specific topics such as retention, enrollment, or classroom utilization in consultation with the Registrar.
    • Maintain detailed analysis of data relating to credit hours, classroom contact hours, student/faculty head-counts, according to NEASC standards are critical to this position.
    • National Clearing House Student Reporting
    • Provide data submission and maintain all computer interfaces with the Clearinghouse Military and Veterans Affairs per standards, including oversight of reported data from data selection to data analysis to data integrity.
    • Analyze and process updates, establish community connections with individuals in key roles within each reporting cohort.
    • Monitor, maintain and update all procedures associated with National Student Clearing House and other reporting agencies for whom the University contributes to their educational support systems.

    Additional Functions

    • Assist in other cyclical office processes and operations such as academic scheduling, registration, grading and degree conferral.
    • Provide services within own sphere of competency on special projects.


    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in computer science, information systems, or business- related discipline.
    • Minimum of three years of increasingly responsible operations experience utilizing computer hardware, software and design for technical or professional analysis and resulting program implementation.
    • Demonstrated ability to use a variety of software systems, including but not limited to: exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office with advanced experience with Excel, working knowledge of a BI tool, i.e., Cognos or other tool such as Entrinsik Informer, and hands-on experience in performing multi-faceted and complex data queries.
    • Experience with an integrated student information system, such as the University's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
    • Ability to adapt quickly to changing technology.
    • Assist in the development of automation of current processes in the Registrar's Office.
    • Committed to working with diverse student and campus populations and to student centered services.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of constituencies: students, faculty and administrators.
    • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks with a high degree of accuracy, prioritize tasks and to handle confidential information and meet deadlines.
    • Strong problem solving, training, and leadership/supervisory skills.
