Overview
SOS International, LLC (SOSi) is currently seeking an Intermediate Systems Administrator (UNIX) in Ft. Huachuca, AZ. The Intermediate UNIX Systems Administrator reports to the UNIX Team Lead. The ideal candidate will possess experience in RedHat Linux/UNIX Systems Administration.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain operating system workstations and servers, including web servers, in support of business processing requirements. NIPR and SIPR servers supported include: Syslog Servers, Snort Servers, Application Servers, ACAS SecurityCenters, and 100 JMS-A/BMS.
- Administers UNIX systems to ensure integrity and security; configure, patch, and scan systems to maintain high availability of services.
- Remain responsive to incident tickets, service requests, restoration of service, and request for change.
- Coordinate disk space planning and management.
- Maintain growth statistics, space forecasts, tape libraries, and software and hardware inventories.
- Perform data backups and recoveries.
- Identify IAVM vulnerabilities on Linux operation system(s) and applications via the DISA web site.
- Generate and analyze weekly ACAS Scan Reports to complete vulnerability reports.
- Support patching and system hardening through STIG application.
- Develop, update, and provide evidence for POAM maintenance and resolutions for all team controlled assets identified with an open security vulnerability requiring mitigation.
- Perform routine System Maintenance and upgrade process and procedures which include: monthly patching application to provide current Red Hat version(s), and the fix for CVEs; designing, planning and performing upgrades to support Red Hat OS as requested from multiple organizations: such as ACAS, ESMS (ITSM), Snort, Database, Web Portal, ARSIGHT, Network Tools teams with an approved ASI/CQR.
- Resolve application issues or requests via ESMS ticketing system.
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
- Provide timely notification to the Government for any critical or high incidents.
- Lead/manage high level administrative/technical taskings with senior level assistance.
- Follow ITIL best practices to manage tickets and processes.
- Develop and/or maintain SOPs, TTPs, and SmartBooks associated with current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
- Participate in special projects as required.
- Collaborate with GTMs, Branch Chiefs, Division Chiefs and Leadership.
Qualifications
- Active in scope SECRET clearance with T5 investigation or the ability to obtain Interim SECRET T5 eligibility
- HS 8 yrs of Information Technology (IT) experience, or AA/AS 6 or BA/BS 4
- An IAT II certification (CCNA-Security, CND, CySA , GICSP, GSEC, Security CE, or SSCP) is required
- Ability to perform on-call and after duty hours as needed
- Ability to learn and work within the UNIX environment
- An ability to communicate effectively both orally and in a written form with users and office staff
- Work independently and within a team structure
- An ability to set priorities and organize work to meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- ITIL Foundation Certification
- Server Administration experience
- Familiar with the UNIX environment
- VI Editor experience

- May require periods of non-traditional working hours including consecutive nights or weekends (if applicable)
