We are looking for a highly motivated Vendor Manager in Columbus, OH that can operate in a fast-paced and demanding environment of a micro-cap publicly-traded company.
Position Summary
The Vendor Manager is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation and efficiency of the sales and vendor management processes. This position involves managing and maintaining robust vendor relationships, ensuring all necessary agreements and documents are in place, and facilitating seamless sales support activities. The Vendor Manager oversees the drafting and management of Purchase Orders, monitors vendor payment terms, and assists in resolving any issues related to order placements, returns, and cancellations.
A significant part of this position includes participating in sales channel/partner programs to secure the best pricing and ensure compliance with all program requirements. In addition, the Vendor Manager will also be instrumental in coordinating sales meetings with clients and project managers and navigating and resolving delivery and supply chain issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Vendor Relationship Management
- Managing active contacts for sales support and order placement.
- Ensuring the presence of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and Vendor Agreements.
- Tracking and Reporting
- Tracking vendors' catalog items by SKU, price (including MSRP and discounted price), tier, and historical sales data.
- Monitoring vendor portal access for order placement or quotation retrieval.
- Managing and maintaining End-User License Agreements (EULAs), Vendor item Terms and Conditions (T&Cs)/Registration, and acceptance forms.
- Tracking and reporting on all rebate programs.
Sales Support
- Participating in sales channel/partner programs for optimal pricing and meeting requirements.
- Assisting with demonstrations, order placement, returns, credits, disputes, and cancellations.
- Drafting Purchase Orders and tracking vendor payment terms and requirements.
- Supporting in tracking the status of sales to update vendors on payment status.
- Monitoring for renewals and initiating subsequent sales cycles.
- Coordination and Problem Resolution
- Coordinating vendor sales meetings with clients and project managers (PMs).
- Addressing and resolving delivery issues with clients and vendors, including scheduling, delivery, and supply chain concerns.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
The minimum qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in vendor management, sales support, or a similar role.
- Strong organizational and tracking skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software and systems.
