Vendor Quality Control Analyst jobs in Columbus, MS

Vendor Quality Control Analyst evaluates vendor operations, products, and services for compliance with government and company quality standards. Conducts audits and testing of products, materials, and processes to measure effectiveness and compliance with company expectations. Being a Vendor Quality Control Analyst analyzes and monitors metrics and KPIs to suggest improvement initiatives. Works with vendors and identifies alternative vendors to mitigate risks and resolve problems. Additionally, Vendor Quality Control Analyst assists with drafting and negotiating service-level agreements to ensure performance/quality metrics, responsibilities, expectations, and penalties are adequately defined. Prepares reports and updates on vendor status and quality. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Vendor Quality Control Analyst occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     We’re looking for a Quality Control and Optimization Leader to join our lumber mill located in Ackerman, Mississippi.  Southeastern Timber Products (STP) produces forest products for customers nationally so they can build their homes and their communities.

    Southeastern Timber Products started in 1972 and had been in business for over 50 years. We’re growing, and now is an exciting time to join us!

     

    Job Qualifications:

    • Five years related lumber manufacturing quality control supervisory experience
    • Post-secondary education in wood processing, business, engineering or related field would be an asset.
    • Self-motivated individual with well-developed organizational, time management and analytical skills.
    • Knowledge of lumber manufacturing processes and equipment.
    • Demonstrated ability to work and contribute in a team environment.
    • Excellent computer application skills.

    Your workday will look something like this:

    You will be responsible to establish and manage a quality control program including the development of quality testing procedures and product improvements.

    As the Quality and Optimization Leader you will provide supervision to a Quality Control Supervisor and a Control Systems Specialist to support achieving the site quality objectives.

    You will work with other team members to solve quality and process problems to develop new and innovative quality procedures and lumber products.
