Vendor Quality Control Analyst evaluates vendor operations, products, and services for compliance with government and company quality standards. Conducts audits and testing of products, materials, and processes to measure effectiveness and compliance with company expectations. Being a Vendor Quality Control Analyst analyzes and monitors metrics and KPIs to suggest improvement initiatives. Works with vendors and identifies alternative vendors to mitigate risks and resolve problems. Additionally, Vendor Quality Control Analyst assists with drafting and negotiating service-level agreements to ensure performance/quality metrics, responsibilities, expectations, and penalties are adequately defined. Prepares reports and updates on vendor status and quality. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Vendor Quality Control Analyst occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Examines products for surface molding defects such as color, short shots, splay, flash, contamination, or other defects as described by customer specification
Compares parts with visual inspection including: Start Up, Last Shot, Sample, PPAP
Verify specified dimensions of product or material, utilizing customer provided gages
Operates any diagnostic equipment needed to perform job, ie. no go, calipers, etc
Creates and follows the Start Up Shot Approval / Line Clearance and reports Quality Alerts as needed
Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors and management
Observes and asks operators for procedure enforcement and observes to verify that equipment is being operated and maintained according to quality assurance standards.
Can determine and place non-conforming product on hold
Will train & mentor operators on visual inspection,
Will physically run machines for operators during scheduled break times
Maintain housekeeping in workstations and QC lab
Safety Glasses while on production floors
High School Diploma or GED completion certification holder
Six months to 1 year related experience, preferred
Bilingual a plus, but not required
Ability to read, interpret and document on paper and computer necessary paperwork/labels for production
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration and percent
Computer skills: Basic computer knowledge, training on Company software will be provided
Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment
