Vendor Quality Control Analyst evaluates vendor operations, products, and services for compliance with government and company quality standards. Conducts audits and testing of products, materials, and processes to measure effectiveness and compliance with company expectations. Being a Vendor Quality Control Analyst analyzes and monitors metrics and KPIs to suggest improvement initiatives. Works with vendors and identifies alternative vendors to mitigate risks and resolve problems. Additionally, Vendor Quality Control Analyst assists with drafting and negotiating service-level agreements to ensure performance/quality metrics, responsibilities, expectations, and penalties are adequately defined. Prepares reports and updates on vendor status and quality. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Quality Control Welding Inspector
Our business is seeking to hire a full-time experienced Welding Inspector to work under QA/QC. The Inspector shall possess knowledge and skills relating to the application of ASME Section VIII pressure vessels and B31.3 Piping. The inspector should be familiar with and have experience in welding, checking in material, ability to read and understand prints/ISO’s, verifying layouts, fit-ups, dimensional checks, visual inspections while enforcing company industry and manufacturing specifications. The inspector must be familiar with safety standards applicable to inspections as set forth in the OSHA Construction Industry Standards. This individual will be responsible for both routine and non-routine day to day functions. Will also be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening, physical and background check. Local candidates will take preference over out of area candidates.
Responsibilities
· Follow and implement company Quality Control Manual.
· Ensures material received meets company and ASME standards.
· Checks MTRs to ensure all material is correct and within drawing specs.
· Performs inspections on vessel and piping at hold points during fabrication to insure it meets the acceptance criteria for a specific code or standard.
· Performs penetrant testing when required.
· Keep up with all documentation involved with vessels and piping in a timely matter.
· Perform visual inspections on welds for appearance, size, and discontinuities.
· Coordinate with supervisors to schedule NDE as needed, verify NDE reports and interpret film.
· Assist in preparing, organizing, and inputting quality control documentation into job folders.
Required Skills
· Organizing and prioritizing/ Attention to detail.
· Ability to use tape measure, levels, two-hole pins, bridge cam, caliper/micrometer, and thickness readers.
· Requires professional written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with yard/shop personnel, third party inspectors, Supervisors and Quality Control Manager
· Must be able to work out in the elements, heights, and confined spaces.
· Be able to work 12 hours a day and weekends.
Education and Experience
· Welding background a plus
· Must have computer skills (Word, Excel, Bluebeam, etc.)
· 1 to 3 years minimum working experience as a welding Inspector.
· Bilingual (Spanish and English) a plus but not required.
· CWI - a plus not required.
