Vendor Quality Control Analyst evaluates vendor operations, products, and services for compliance with government and company quality standards. Conducts audits and testing of products, materials, and processes to measure effectiveness and compliance with company expectations. Being a Vendor Quality Control Analyst analyzes and monitors metrics and KPIs to suggest improvement initiatives. Works with vendors and identifies alternative vendors to mitigate risks and resolve problems. Additionally, Vendor Quality Control Analyst assists with drafting and negotiating service-level agreements to ensure performance/quality metrics, responsibilities, expectations, and penalties are adequately defined. Prepares reports and updates on vendor status and quality. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Vendor Quality Control Analyst occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.   • POSITION SUMMARY

    Inspect, test, sort, sample, or weigh raw materials or processed, machined, fabricated or assembled parts or products for defects, wear and deviations from specification to ensure quality standards are met.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Visually inspect materials or products using optical devices, specialized tools and/or use equipment to inspect, test or measure materials, products, installations and work for conformance to specifications.
    • Perform 100% visual inspections, batch inspection, electronic inspection, AQL sampling and line auditing of product and processes (according to control plan).
    • Monitor and audit ESD and board handling.
    • Maintain accurate quality records such as forms, logs, C of Cs, etc... For inspection or test data, such as weights, defects found, and quantities inspected or graded and mark items with details of acceptance or rejection status.
    • Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products and recommend necessary corrective actions.
    • Notify supervisors and other personnel of quality related production problems and assist in identifying and correcting these problems.
    • Work with quality and engineering personnel on quality containment issues.
    • Request, initiate, and verify completion of PCRs, Deviations, Quality Reject (Red) Tags, etc. as needed based on findings of inspections.
    • Maintain and perform duties related to 5S activities.
    • Work with Production Supervisors and Coordinators to satisfy production priorities and needs.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

     

     

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS or REQUIREMENTS


    • Ability to maintain a high level of focus, demonstrate extreme attention to detail, and be averse to distractions.

    ·         Strong knowledge of IPC-A-600 and IPC-A-610 quality standards, or the capability to complete training and testing with 90% score or higher.

    • Ability to read customer prints, fabrication and dimensional drawings.
    • Able to use multiple measurement tools such as rulers, calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, and compute measured values.
    • Must be able to work required overtime to support manufacturing needs and requests from our customers.
    • Must be able to lift up to 40lbs. and stand and/or sit for long periods of time.
    • Good vision is necessary for this position, desired 20/20 with corrective lenses.

    Education& Experience:

    Minimum Education High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

    Electronics Assembly experience preferred but not required.

    Quality Assurance experience a plus.

    Familiarity with control plans and FMEAs.

    Familiarity with problem solving tools such as 5 Whys, C/E Diagrams, Pareto Diagrams, Flow Charts, Histograms, etc…
