Vendor Quality Control Analyst jobs in Tacoma, WA

Vendor Quality Control Analyst evaluates vendor operations, products, and services for compliance with government and company quality standards. Conducts audits and testing of products, materials, and processes to measure effectiveness and compliance with company expectations. Being a Vendor Quality Control Analyst analyzes and monitors metrics and KPIs to suggest improvement initiatives. Works with vendors and identifies alternative vendors to mitigate risks and resolve problems. Additionally, Vendor Quality Control Analyst assists with drafting and negotiating service-level agreements to ensure performance/quality metrics, responsibilities, expectations, and penalties are adequately defined. Prepares reports and updates on vendor status and quality. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Vendor Quality Control Analyst occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Performance Team and Damco Distribution, now part of the Maersk global organization under a combined Warehousing & Distribution division, offer third party logistics services to over 500 customers. Encompassing almost 15 million square feet of warehousing capacity throughout the country and a large transportation segment capturing a variety of services, we have key supply chain hubs in the Los Angeles and New Jersey/New York areas, and other facilities along the Western & Eastern coasts along with multiple locations in the Midwest. Delivering significant sales and profitability growth, we will drive the Inland Logistics and Services business for the combined US business units for Maersk.

    Key responsibilities

    Audit all Outbound Shipments for quantity, SKU, and Customer Requirements
    Identifying and reconciling inventory discrepancies in a timely manner
    Maintaining inventory reports and logs as needed, including:
    Comparison Report
    Metric Reports
    Error Logs
    Writing up the daily checks for Customers as required
    Checking freight for accurate paperwork as requested
    Reconciliation of overages, shortages and damages
    Apprising Supervisor and Customer Service Manager of any non-compliant freight
    Verifying all freight pulls, transfers, movement of freight and orders
    Assist in planning inbound and outbound loads
    Process driver paperwork and load documents
    Take photos of outbound loads
    Assist CSR and other staff as needed
    Assist with small parcel assembly
    Cross train in other areas of the team, specifically Customer Service
    Support Damco Distribution's commitment to quality, which includes customer specific Quality program(s), training requirements and work instructions
    Special Projects as assigned
    Performs job related duties as specified by management

    We are looking for

    College Degree Preferred

    Strong written and verbal communication skills
    Analytical and organized, ability to focus on details and compare data
    Ability to work independently
    Must possess excellent time management skills to manage high volume in a fast-paced environment
    Ability to perform well with time-sensitive tasks
    Ability to work and communicate with both warehouse personnel and office staff appropriately
    Industry experience preferred; not required
    Proficient in Microsoft applications (i.e. WinWord and Excel)
    Ability to work a flexible schedule (1st or 2nd shift), weekends, and holidays as required by business/customer need
