Veterinary Assistant prepares treatment room for examination of animals; restrains animals during examination, treatment, or inoculation. Administers injections, performs venipunctures, applies wound dressings, cleans teeth, and takes vital signs of animal. Being a Veterinary Assistant requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May be required to be certified/licensed. Additionally, Veterinary Assistant is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision of a veterinarian. Veterinary Services of Aiken is looking to add a Receptionist to our front desk team. We are planning to hire a permanent, part time person; however, another staff member has a planned leave of absence approaching, so there is the potential for the position to transition to full time, at least temporarily. The part time schedule that needs to be filled after training is complete is every Thursday, 7:30 AM-2:00 PM; every Friday 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM; and you would alternate Wednesdays 7:30 AM-2:00 PM with Saturdays from 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM.
Our Receptionists are the face of our practice. This role plays in important part in our community reputation and in supporting our clients and patients by providing great customer service in a fast-paced environment with many moving parts.
Daily responsibilities include:
Rotating Saturday shifts are required as is rotating holiday coverage. Veterinary experience is preferred, but we will train the right person who is friendly, outgoing, has customer service experience, can think on their feet, and is prepared to put in the work and learn a lot about veterinary medicine.
