Requirements:
Veterinary Assistants with 2yrs of patient care and a resume indicating competency.(starting $16 -22 per hour, will be re-evaluated after 60 day training period)
Responsibilities:
We are looking for that elusive, versatile and skilled match who will be responsible for:
· Supporting our compassionate and competent Veterinarians in their care of our clients and patients
· Managing the client experience through accurate and detailed exam room communication, discussing preventative care services, diagnostic plans, and obtaining accurate medical history.
· With the guidance of a DVM, formulating and discussing cost estimates, reviewing patient treatment plans. Discharging patients as directed.
· Helping our team care for hospitalized patients, assisting with IV catheter placement and management, performing treatment orders, operation of infusion pumps, assisting with ongoing diagnostics, performing general husbandry
· Maintain a clean hospital, restocking treatment supplies, surgical instrumentation sterilization, maintaining a clean surgical and treatment space.
· Assist in obtaining diagnostics; Labwork, Radiographs, Cytology, EKG, Doppler BP, Ultrasound/Echocardiogram, Biopsies, other diagnostic procedures. Ultrasound training may be provided through Oncura if this is of interest.
· Contribute to an efficient work-flow, contribute to a positive work environment, accept and provide constructive criticism, be willing to continue to learn, respect and encourage your team mates. Accept the mission of the hospital as your guide to decision making.
