Veterinary Technician assists veterinarian with exams, surgeries, and first aid. Collects and documents case history and treatment details. Being a Veterinary Technician monitors vital signs and condition of animals being treated and provides nursing care. Takes X rays, EKG, Ultrasound, and performs various lab test including urinalysis and blood counts. Additionally, Veterinary Technician depending on state regulations, may administer anesthesia, injections, and perform dental prophylaxis, catheterization, and other procedures under supervision of a veterinarian. Instructs pet owners on how to administer medication and other animal care skills. Typically requires an associate degree. Depending on state, may require RVT certification. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Veterinary Technician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. We are a high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter 501(c)3 non-profit veterinary clinic. Affiliated and mentored by the ASPCA, we follow the highest standards of care for our patients. Our mission is spay/neuter, but we also provide out-patient services for prevention and overall health. We do not perform any other surgery besides spay/neuter, do not take emergencies, and we do not provide dentals or radiographs.
We are seeking a full-time, seasoned veterinary technician or veterinary assistant to provide exceptional care for our patients.
Responsibilities:
- Checking in pets for spay/neuter and wellness
- Prepping patients for surgery & patient recovery
- Checking out pets for spay/neuter and wellness
- Making surgical packs
- Performing a wide variety of out-patient services including but not limited to: vaccinations, IDEXX SNAP and Catalyst bloodwork, IDEXX CBC, nail trims, ear cleanings, microchips, ear cytology exams, fecal tests, pharmacy refills, restraint, physical examinations, etc.
- Accurate recordkeeping and handling of controlled substances

Schedule is 4 10-hour shifts. Pay is a range competitive with the current market rate and is based on experience, skills, and certifications.
