Being a Visitor Research Analyst - Museum requires a master's degree of social science or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or a manager. Medicaid, Medicare, and most private health insurance is accepted.Job DescriptionThis is a paraprofessional position with responsibility for providing one-on -one curriculum instruction with parents, in their homes or in a community-based setting (for group meetings) and will supply the parent with weekly HIPPY activity packets. The position provides a broad range of services including developing and maintaining formal relationships within the community; develops and maintain linkages with various community resources; and to be a role model and advocate for families and children.Essential Functions: Executing the curriculum with his or her own child or “practice” child daily.Meeting, and role playing the curriculum, with assigned families each week.Participation in the planning and orchestration of group meetings, which includes role playing the curriculum and the provision of an enrichment activity.Participation in weekly in-service training and other staff development activities.Keeping the HIPPY Manager abreast of child/family progress and familial issues and concerns as they arise.Timely completion and submission of required forms and other documentation as required by the coordinator and/or HIPPY USA.Participation in all sponsored HIPPY activities (e.g., field trips, graduations, awards ceremonies, etc.)Assisting the coordinator in maintaining an efficient record keeping system for participating families. Carries out other duties as assignedQualificationsMinimum Requirements:Graduation from High School or possession of a GED certificate and a minimum of one year experience with children and families.Eligible for participation in the HIPPY programA parent of a three, or four year old child or access to a “practice child” of the appropriate age (a child with whom the home visitor daily executes the HIPPY curriculum)A resident of the Gregg County.Access to reliable transportation.Mental and physical health sufficient to meet the demands of the position.Must be able to adhere to all client related policies and procedures including confidentiality.Requires a valid Texas Driver's License, appropriate driving record and auto liability insurance that meets the minimum required by State of Texas statuteRequired Skills:Good organizational skills and the ability to be task-orientedGood (functional) oral and written communication skills, including good reading skillsAbility to adhere to schedules and specific timetables Demonstrated potential leadership abilitiesDemonstrated emotional maturity and sensitivity to the needs and interests of the targeted communityAptitude to complete paperwork and reportsExcellent inter-personal skills, to include intangible qualities (e.g. friendliness, openness, non-judgmental attitude, enthusiasm, etc.)Ability to serve as a role model ( positive attitude, professional dress, demeanor and behavior)Excellent documentation skills, attention to detail, and coordination of activitiesAble to schedule work activities according to priorityEnergetic forward-thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional imageThe ability to work independently and effectively under pressurePhysical Requirements:Requires sitting, standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to work with a moderate noise level in the work environment is required.The occupant may, at times, lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds.
