Volunteer Coordinator supervises and leads the daily undertakings of a volunteer program to attract, inspire, train, and deploy volunteers. Leads the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of volunteer workers. Being a Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for training and educating volunteers. Motivates and inspires volunteers to encourage teamwork. Additionally, Volunteer Coordinator evaluates and reviews volunteer schedules and makes adjustments as necessary. Ensures that the activities of the volunteer workers meet the needs of the organization. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Volunteer Coordinator supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. The Program
Volunteers are required to pick up and transport clients in accordance with the daily electronic schedule. They will ensure a safe, courteous and respectful on-board client experience keeping in mind their health, well-being, cultural background, life experiences and social connection.
All Red Cross vehicles and offices are subject to enhanced, regular cleaning at this time. All drivers are expected to follow strict sanitisation protocols.
No clients with virus symptoms or have been in contact with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 cases, who have travelled overseas in the last 14 days, or have been in contact with those who have been to Government identified high risk countries in the last 14 days are transported.
The Opportunity
For this role, you are required to have a current full Australian drivers license and an excellent driving record. You will have the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with a broad range of people including the elderly, individuals living with disabilities, disadvantaged, socially isolated and culturally diverse clients.
You will transport and support clients who are experiencing vulnerability or are socially isolated to attend medical appointments, allied health consultations and social engagements.
