Volunteer Services Director manages a volunteer program to attract, inspire, train, and deploy volunteers. Oversees the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of volunteer workers. Being a Volunteer Services Director provides training resources and guidance to a team of supervisors to assist with educating volunteers. Manages the scheduling of volunteer workers to ensure adequate assistance for projects or objectives. Additionally, Volunteer Services Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Volunteer Services Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Volunteer Services Director typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required. Seva Hospice is looking for compassionate individuals who enjoy spending time with people. Patient Care Volunteers provide compassionate, non-medical care to patients and families who are faced with terminal illness.
Volunteers serve as advocates and become a vital part of the patient care team. Many times, by providing a listening ear, reading or watching a movie with a patient, these simple acts become the most meaningful help we can offer.
Some activities may include playing cards, reading a book, painting, coloring, writing letters or assisting in the office with a variety of admin duties.
