Wafer Fabrication Operator manufactures wafers under direct supervision. Performs the basic processes of production, such as: baking, aligning, inspecting, etching, and cleaning the wafers. Being a Wafer Fabrication Operator ensures the quality of final product and provides reports to management. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Wafer Fabrication Operator typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Wafer Fabrication Operator possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Our Machine Operators set up and operate basic machinery used in selecting operation sequences, tooling, speed and feeds, and torch travel on equipment including saws, press brake, and CNC burning machines. Our Machine Operators earn a starting salary of $18.50 to $20.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Day Shift starts at 5am
What You'll Do:
• Tends to fabricate machines such as cut saws, shears, rolls, brakes, presses, forming machines, spinning machines, punches, mills, lathes, and drills, following all safety procedures and utilizing all proper guarding.
• Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Sets stops and/or guides to specified length
• Position the workpiece manually or with a hoist as needed.
• Observe machine operation to workpiece defects.
• Measure each piece to ensure it is dimensionally correct.
• Remove all burrs and slag from each piece.
• Ensure all quantities match the quantities called out.
• Utilize hand tools such as a hammer, adjustable wrench, air grinder, pencil grinder, and air wrenches
• Perform minor maintenance and complete a pre-shift inspection of machines.
• Job requires using a computer to access and open/close computer documents.
• Participate in process and product development and improvement programs, teams, and focus groups.
• Perform or assist in other assigned areas as qualified.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with Company policies relating to safety and housekeeping

What We Need from You:
• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Operate an assortment of forklifts and material handling equipment such as hoists and overhead cranes.
• Knowledgeable and able to use tape measure, combination square, levels, radius boards, etc.
• Perform work standing on concrete for a minimum of 8 hours and up to 12 hours per day, and a minimum of 4 days up to 6 days per week.
• Flexibility to work additional hours beyond the work schedule when needed.
• Willingness to cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks or positions in the Company outside of or in addition to primarily assigned position, work area, or department.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Perform work safely in accordance with all Company safety policies, procedures, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Perform work in various physical positions including standing, kneeling, squatting, bending, and reaching (temporary variances may be accommodated based on the employee’s primary assignment).
• Perform work in a heavy industrial setting with exposure to heat, cold, humidity, industrial odors, fumes, gasses, chemicals, oil, grease, smoke, dust, noise, and vibration, and involves climbing ladders and stairs, using pneumatic tools, working in cramped quarters, and working with moving machinery.
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for this position, including hearing protection, safety glasses, safety steel toe boots, and gloves. A hard hat may also be required.
