    What you will do:

    • Lead the design and development of secondary packaging solutions for combination products, considering factors such as product compatibility, transportation requirements, and regulatory compliance.

    • Conduct comprehensive distribution testing utilizing ASTM/ISTA standards to evaluate packaging performance under simulated transport and handling conditions.

    • Implement design controls methodology to establish clear requirements, specifications, and verification/validation protocols for secondary packaging designs.

    • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Regulatory Affairs to integrate packaging considerations into product development processes.

    • Utilize advanced simulation tools and techniques to predict packaging performance and identify potential failure modes before physical testing. Perform rigorous design verification activities with a focus on secondary packaging functionality, reliability, and scalability.

    • Lead the development of innovative packaging concepts and materials to improve product protection, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.

    • Maintain documentation in compliance with regulatory standards and company policies, including design history files, risk assessments, and test reports.

    • Provide technical expertise and support to troubleshoot packaging-related issues during production, distribution, and post-market surveillance.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.

    • Minimum 7 years of experience in packaging engineering with a focus on secondary packaging design and development for combination products.

    • Proficiency in distribution testing methodologies, including ASTM and ISTA standards.

    • Demonstrated expertise in design controls methodology, including risk management and verification/validation activities.

    • Experience with simulation software (e.g., Finite Element Analysis) for predictive modeling of packaging performance.

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

    • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for packaging in regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals and medical devices is desirable.
