    Job Summary:

    The role of Process Development Technician is to create an accurate and cost-effective method of producing parts, continuously improve safety, quality, process efficiency, and the flow of information. This role will also coordinate with various departments to test processes and study current processes to determine if modifications can be made to improve manufacturing.

    Core Roles:

    • Create an accurate, safe, and cost-effective method of mass-producing parts with the aid of customer prints, samples, and YMI documentation.
    • Assist and collaborate with the QA dept. in the inspection of parts and measuring equipment. Record information of nonconforming parts for corrective action plans.
    • Study current processes to determine if modifications can be made to improve the manufacturing process.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Production - Make parts production friendly as possible. (Production ready, part matches print, easily repeatable) Make sure a fluent process is developed and recorded and that all components are labeled and located.
    • Collaboration - Coordinate with the Tooling Department to test dies and welding fixtures. Provide input toward fixtures and dies when needed.
    • CAD Drawings/Work Instructions - Prepare prints, pictures, and all other necessary information on producing a part for Production/QA.
    • Quality - Prove and adjust blanks, Quality measuring (ISIR), assist Quality Assurance Manager in Production’s questions.
    • Process - Answer Production Department’s questions in the process, setup, or measuring of various parts to ensure all information for the process of a specific part is efficient and accurate.

    Required Skills:

    • Ability to read prints, Basic CAD Experience- making prints and designing customer parts.
    • Determine the best process and procedures to produce parts.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Efficient in various CAD programs. (SolidWorks, TruTOPS BOOST)
    • Office Suite Proficiency - Word, Xcel, etc.
    • Operate CMM(Faro) for First Article Inspection Report and general knowledge of basic measuring equipment.
