    We currently have an opening for an Optical Alignment Technician. The Optical Alignment Technician is a key position that is recognized as a critical function for business success. In this position, the Optical Alignment Technician will assemble the mechanical and optical components of our analyzers, and then will perform the alignment of our analyzers to attain specifications. He/she will work in a Clean Room environment where the Clean Room protocols must be strictly adhered to. He/she will be expected to efficiently and effectively shift between tasks depending on production and delivery requirements. The candidate should also be able to complete tasks in a timely manner and communicate and coordinate effectively with their team lead to answer questions or address any issues. The ideal candidate for this position is a self-managed and task-oriented professional with an attention to detail and motivated to learn and coordinate with other team members. He/she must be adaptable and flexible to perform in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, meeting tight deadlines without compromising quality.

    Requirements

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    · Perform precision opto-mechanical assembly and optical alignment for our advanced laser-based product lines.

    · Prepare, process, clean, install, assemble, rework, and/or inspect product at various stages of assembly from component level to final product.

    · Collect, analyze, and report data from production processes requiring basic mathematical and statistical knowledge. 

    · Perform other work-related duties as assigned and other Production related tasks.

    · Applies equal amounts of skills and dedication to all other duties as assigned.


    Qualifying Attributes and Skills:

    · Associate or bachelor’s degree in a physical science or engineering discipline

    · 2-5 years’ experience in optical assembly or alignment, or other relevant work experience preferred

    · Experience in mechanical and/or assembly with excellent manual dexterity a must

    · Ability to use common laboratory and/or electronics equipment, including oscilloscope, digital voltmeter, vacuum pump, etc.

    · Proficient experience and use of computers and Microsoft Office

    · Must have excellent record keeping skills with an attention to detail

    · Ability to perform routine work in a fast-paced, team environment under tight deadlines

    · Ability to work autonomously with little or no direction; self-managed

    · Ability to multi-task

    · Willingness to assist with tasks, even when the work is out of the scope of responsibilities
