Warehouse Supervisor supervises the overall warehouse operations and daily activities of staff. Oversees receiving and stowing, picking and packing, shipping, inventory management, and documentation. Being a Warehouse Supervisor optimizes efficient layouts, workflows, and utilization of warehouse space. Monitors the safety and security of goods and materials. Additionally, Warehouse Supervisor utilizes a warehouse management system (WMS), enterprise resource system (ERP), or other system to track and analyze processes and performance. Implements strong safety polices and procedures. Typically requires an associate degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Warehouse Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Warehouse Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. ABOUT THIS ROLE:
The individual in this position will supervise all warehouse workers and the organization of donated merchandise for distribution from the main warehouse to SMH stores; maintain the safety, cleanliness and organization of the main warehouses and adjacent areas; organize and assure compliance with SMH policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL TASKS
Requirements
Education: High School diploma or higher. Relevant certifications are a plus.
Experience: Minimum 2 years warehousing experience, moving and customer service/retail store experience essential.
Travel Demands: Flexibility in work hours; this position requires some overtime.
Confidentiality: Works with confidential information.
Mental/Visual Demands: Flow of work requires normal mental and visual capabilities
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and carry more than 75 pounds (34 kg) for extended periods of time.
Working Conditions: Warehouses and surrounding storage and operational spaces.
