Waste Water Treatment Plant Manager jobs in Westfield, MA

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operation of the waste water treatment system and equipment.
• Ensuring that the waste water effluent meets all requirements of the discharge permit.
• The makeup of new chemical solutions.
• Additions of chemicals to chemical solutions.
• Chemical treatment, filtration, and transfer of chemical solutions.
• Proper disposal of chemical solutions.
• Accurate inventory record keeping of chemicals and supplies from receiving to decrements.
• Cleanliness of waste treatment and chemical storage areas.
• Maintaining all chemical handling equipment.
• Must read, familiarize and follow completely department procedures and chemical handling safety rules.
• Ensuring that all containers are properly labeled.
• Support the production department.
• Proper labeling, storage, handling and disposal of hazardous waste

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED
• Mass Waste Treatment Operators License Grade 2I or higher
• Massachusetts DEP requires general hazardous waste training every year under regulation 310 CMR 30.516.
• The US Department of Transportation requires general hazardous waste training every three years under regulation 49 CFR 107 and 171-180.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to occasionally lift 50# containers.
• Must be able to physically must a 55 drum of chemicals with a barrel truck

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The position involves working with and around hazardous chemicals, paints and solvents. Themajority of work is performed in shop conditions and can be in excess of 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer season.
