Waste Water Treatment Technician ensures that pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum equipment and other waste water treatment equipment are functioning properly. Monitors equipment for potential failures and may make minor repairs or adjustments as needed. Being a Waste Water Treatment Technician collects water samples for chemical analysis. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Additionally, Waste Water Treatment Technician typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Waste Water Treatment Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.     As the Medical Records Technician, you will be specialized in clerical work in preparing, recording, and filing of patient medical records in accordance with clearly defined and established procedures as set forth by CARF. Your work requires the application of specialized knowledge of medical terminology in the coding and indexing of medical records.

    Requirements:

    • High School graduate or equivalent
    • One (1) year of experience in the medical records field


    Preferred education and experience:

    • Three (3) years of experience in the medical records field.
    • Experience processing release of information requests and subpoena requests require

     

    Requirements functions:

    • Collates and assembles discharged patient records according to department guidelines
      within 24 hours of discharge.
    • Safeguard and protect the patient’s right to privacy by ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to the patient’s medical information and that all releases of information is in compliance with the request, authorization, Pinnacle Treatment Centers policies and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) regulations.
    • Prepares master patient index cards and files accordingly.
    • Analyzes discharge records and checks content and documentation for completion and accuracy within 24 hours of discharge (72 on weekends and holidays).
    • Codes and performs record abstracting with accuracy.
    • Re-routes incomplete records to appropriate staff and ensures record completion by working with appropriate supervisor daily.
    • Receives processes and logs any correspondence requesting information from the medical record department daily.
    • Maintains an “In/Out” Log for checking out of medical records by the professional staff.
    • Completes with accuracy of monthly statistical data.
    • Monitors and updates medical records policy and procedures to maintain compliance with State, Federal and CARF guidelines.
    • Monitors discharge records to ensure closure within appropriate time frames to meet standards.
    • Monitors release of information forms for proper completion to ensure patient’s rights are protected.
    • Monitors and updates privacy practices in policy and procedures to maintain compliance with State, Federal and CARF guidelines.
    • Establish mechanisms for information authorization practices, controls, and internal audits of access to protected information.
    • Document procedures for processing, storing, retrieving, and destroying all records that contain protected information.
    • Attend team meetings and complete all training courses timely as required.
    • Other duties as assigned.
